Counts Of The Netherworld Album Plan
Well it was bound to happen. If you have a load of unfinished demos, 10 songs in total, and you are working on them all at once. You might as well be making an album. So that’s what we have decided to do. The thought had crossed my mind, but Sam bringing it up again, confirms that this is the right step forward.
So we now plan on re-recording all the guitar parts for the songs on both Volume 1 and 2 so they are on par with our current recordings. Currently Sam has completed vocals for both Volume 1 and 2 and is currently targeting Volume 3, he caught up fast.
We also plan to record one extra song. All albums need an epic last song. I think I have something in mind, a little riff I’ve had for only, what? 10 years just lying around doing nothing, it needs a home… it shall have a home.
So an 11 song album, recorded, well I’ve said it all ready, in less than adequate conditions and by only two people with a mic a piece. Sounds like a challenge to me. I foresee much stress. Who knows when this shit will get finished.
Coming soon, the debut album from ‘Counts of The Netherworld’, shit yeah!
One brick at a time, baby!

Bananagate on BBC 6 Music Introducing with Tom Robinson
Our song Bananagate will be played on Tom Robinson’s BBC 6 Music show, Introducing.
Yes, the same songs we’ve been tampering away with for the last few months. The songs recorded in such a shambolic manor, on noisy, noisy gear… are deemed radio ready. Hey, we’re as surprised as you. We must be doing something right. Who’da thunk it!
Airing Monday 29th September 2008. Tune in.
BBC 6 MUSIC on; DAB RADIO, SKY 0120, FREEVIEW 707, FREESAT 707, VIRGIN 909 and http://www.bbc.co.uk … binsons_introducing/

New Demo Creatively Titled Volume 3
A new month and a new demo. Volume 3 featuring three new as yet untitled songs. They seem to be pouring out at the moment. That’s what happens when you’ve been backed up for five years. These were recorded between 21st and 26th September 2008 and are currently undergoing production. These songs seem to be more experimental and weird compared to the last bunch, turns out, we’re more than a little space rock, we also seem to be getting some clarity out of our crappy little recording set-up.
In the time since the last update, Sam has been working his way through adding vocals to the previously recorded songs. Currently he has completed all the vocals for Volume 2, (if you’ve been anywhere near our myspace you will have probably heard) and is about to get his meat hooks into Volume 1.
As the vocals get done for the previous demos, we are constantly tampering with all the songs. Finishing them, polishing them, updating them, and then finishing them again. We are just kinda working on all the demos at once right now until we are satisfied with the results. They will all be complete one day. Somewhere along the line I’ve been tampering with cover designs too. We sure have our work cut out for us.

Sam Wilson Joins Counts Of The Netherworld on Vocals
Sam Wilson (We Are Thieves/Green Car Legacy/Kubera) has become part of Counts Of The Netherworld and will be working on vocals for all the instrumental songs that have been recorded so far, which is currently the first 2 demos.
This ends a nearly five year rift in our friendship since that one strange night in 2003 when life was turned on it’s head and I lost my way.
This reminds me of the famous line, “If you build, he will come”. All I had to do was pick up my guitar and start making music again, and what do you know… life starts happening again.
Let’s see if we can breath some life into these humble recording of mine. We sure have our work cut out for us.

Volume 2: A Demo is Born
Three new tunes all done and dusted which, keeping with tradition, I’m going to call Volume 2.
The songs Bananagate, Coyote Tranceman and Clouds Amongst Us got pretty much the same treatment as the last set of songs. All instrumental, all recorded to an appauling standard with shockingly cobbled together gear which I call a home studio. Hey, when you have no money, you make do, or make the most, I forget which one.
Apart from the obvious gap where a noisy head should be (I’m working on that), I think these sound pretty complete, an improvement over the last set in terms of production.
Recorded between 23rd and 26th of June.
Lets see if, third times a charm.
